Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program
Faculty Advisor: Krishana Saha
Namita Khajanchi’s research is focused on controlling nuclease degradation to reduce off-target activity of CRISPR/Cas editors.
Biomedical Engineering PhD Program
Faculty Advisor: Sean Palecek
Sarah Boutom’s research focuses on elucidating the relationship of hypoxia-mediated signaling with known and undiscovered pathways important in specification of the blood-brain barrier. The blood-brain barrier, which separates the systemic circulation from tissue of the central nervous system, is known to be disrupted in several neurologic disease processes and is a major limiting factor in delivery of pharmacologic therapies to the brain.
Genetics Graduate Program

Jaime Cordova’s research uses a large-scale multi-omic approach to advance the understanding of metabolic and regulatory networks involved with the response to oxygen availability beyond the current knowledge from E. coli K- 12. Additionally, this will allow us to further understand the evolution of the response to oxygen.
Cellular & Molecular Biology Graduate Program Faculty Advisor: Thomas Friedrich Luis Haddock-Soto’s research uses cellular and genomic approaches to analyze how pre-existing dengue virus specific antibody repertoires affect the development of responses to Zika virus.
