Dr. David Stern’s research will focus on creation of novel approaches for predicting evolution and diversity of genome-wide chromatin interactions. Three-dimensional chromosome organization is of fundamental importance to eukaryotic genome function as a regulator of gene expression. Dr. Stern will develop a probabilistic model of genome-wide chromatin interaction evolution; develop a novel method to predict chromatin interactions in species and cell lines using evolutionary information and analyze chromatin-interaction evolution.
