Resume

My research interests focus on understanding evolutionary dynamics in microbial populations, and their effect on genomic, phenotypic, and emergent properties as well as genetic network interactions. My primary research goal is on analysis of the evolutionary dynamics of molecular host-pathogen interactions, specifically those interactions mediated by the type three secretion system (TTSS). My research will analyze and model both pathogenic interactions with natural hosts and the spread of virulence factors by horizontal transfer.
