Mark Politz’ graduate research is focused on tuning gene expression with synthetic trans-regulatory elements. These incude Transcription Activator-Like Effectors (TALES), the Clustered Regularly Interspced Short Palindromic (CRISPR)/CRISPR associate protein (Cas) system, and small RNAs.
