Matthew Lollar’s research is focused on development of Drosophila melangaster as a model system for the genetic basis of early stage reproductive isolation. He and colleagues are characterizing the biological and genetic basis of early stage reproductive isolation between allopatric populations of Drosophila melanogaster. Leveraging complementary expertise in genetic mapping, population genomics, and computation, they aim to develop D. melanogaster as a powerful model system for the genetics of reproductive isolation.
